RANCH PARTNERS

Your land can
help shape a life.

Time in the field brings generations together.

Rooted in Relationship

South Texas hunting heritage has always depended on the relationship between hunters, landowners, wildlife, and the land itself. Behind an opportunity to hunt is someone’s commitment to caring for that land - maintaining habitat, tending water resources, and making thoughtful decisions about its future. Ranch owners carry knowledge that can only come from time spent observing, working, and living alongside the wildlife they help sustain.

For a young person, time on a ranch can turn those lessons into something real. It is a chance to understand why a gate must be closed, why water matters, how habitat supports wildlife, and why access to private land is a privilege built on trust. Learning directly from the people who care for these places helps connect hunting with the patience, work, and responsibility that make it possible.

STHHF is seeking ranch partners willing to share that connection through access, mentorship, and education. Together, we can give young people a place to learn responsible outdoor practices, respect for landowners, and an appreciation for South Texas ranching traditions. By opening a door to those experiences, ranch partners help prepare the next generation to value and care for the land.

Ways your ranch can participate

A partnership that fits your ranch

Every ranch has its own rhythms, responsibilities, and resources. Your partnership should reflect yours. You do not need to host every program or offer every kind of support to make a meaningful difference in a young person’s life.

Perhaps you can offer a management whitetail or hog hunting opportunity, welcome a small group for a conservation day, or share your knowledge of wildlife and habitat management. Lodging, facilities, or a place for families to gather can also help create an experience that would otherwise be out of reach.

Start with what feels right for your land, your schedule, and your interests. Tell us what you would like to share, and we can explore a way to participate that respects your ranch’s operations and stewardship priorities. Even one opportunity can give a young person a lasting connection to the outdoors - and a deeper appreciation for the people who care for the land.
